In contemporary volleyball, many types of serves are employed:

Professional golf with new tour
China's golf bosses have restructured the professional game in the country with a new "Greater China Tour", which will include a six-tournament circuit in place of the China Tour.
The China Tour was launched in 2005 with the aim of providing regular tournament golf for the country's professionals and, sponsored by Swiss watchmakers Omega, ran four events last year.
The China Golf Association (CGA) have replaced it with the Chinese Pro Golf Championships in a new five-tiered structure for 2010. "I am glad to tell you the China Tour is not dead. It is sill alive and even stronger," secretary general Zhang Xiaoning told the CGA's website (http://www.golf.org.cn/).
"With golf entering the Olympic Games, from 2010 on the CGA will integrate golf events in China to create the Greater China Tour," he added.
"The Chinese Pro Golf Championship is a fourth tier event of the Greater China Tour, with total prize money of $200,000 to $1 million. The 2010 Tour will have six stages, starting in early April."
The return of golf to the Olympics from 2016 has been a great boost to the state-run CGA, which can now count on greater financial support from China's sports system but will also need to produce top quality players to eventually compete for medals.
China's top player is Liang Wenchong, who has won one European Tour sanctioned event, was the 2007 Asian Tour champion and is currently ranked 85th in the world.
The higher tiers of the Greater China Tour are likely to include the four events on the fledgling OneAsia Tour in 2010, the Luxe Hills Championship, the China Open, the China Classic and Shandong Gold Cup.
China will again this year host the WGC-HSBC Champions, which is co-sanctioned by the CGA, U.S. PGA, the European and Asian Tours, South Africa's Sunshine Tour and the Australasian PGA.
The $7 million event could move from its present venue in Shanghai after 2010, although it will probably stay in China at a venue owned by the Mission Hills club in Shenzhen.

Tseng wins British Open for 5th major
CARNOUSTIE, Scotland - Judging by the record books, Yani Tseng is 10 years ahead of Annika Sorenstam.
The 22-year-old Chinese Taipei golfer won the Women's British Open for the second straight year on Sunday, beating Brittany Lang by four strokes and becoming the youngest player - male or female - to capture a fifth major title.
Sorenstam was 32 when she won the 2003 LPGA Championship for her fifth major. Tiger Woods was 24 when he won his fifth at the 2000 PGA Championship.
"It's so great making history on this golf course, and I feel wonderful right now," said Tseng, who is ranked No 1 and won the LPGA Championship last month. "I hope to keep winning. Next year there are another four majors and I will try and organize and keep working hard."
Tseng became only the third player to win consecutive British titles, joining Sherri Steinhaurer (1998, 1999) and Debbie Massey (1980, 1981).
Tseng shot a 3-under 69 to finish at 16-under 272. She trailed third-round leader Caroline Masson of Germany by two strokes entering the final round. Masson closed with a 78 and tied for fifth.
"I wish to win more, but I am really happy," Tseng said. "I think in my mind I say, wow, five-times major. I never think about that. It just feels really very special."
Lang shot a 67 to finish at 276, one ahead of Sweden's Sophie Gustafson (68). South Korea's Amy Yang (67) was fourth.
Lang was tied for sixth entering the final day, eight behind Masson. She picked up one stroke by the turn but the American bagged four birdies at Nos 11, 12, 14 and 17.
"I made some really big par putts early on, and from then on played fairly flawless golf," Lang said.
Tseng dropped a shot at the first hole with three putts, missing a 3-footer for par. She birdied the third with a pitching wedge to 2 feet and the long sixth with a chip to 5 feet.
By the turn, she was in command. She was just short of the green off the tee at the par-4 11th and took two putts for a birdie, then dropped a shot at two straight holes. She hit an 8-iron over the back of the green at 12 and then hit the pin off the tee on the short 13th but her ball stopped at the edge of a bunker. She stood in the sand to play her second shot.
Tseng birdied the long 14th and finished with two birdies, holing from 20 feet on the 17th and hitting a majestic 9-iron to 3 feet at the last.
"I was a little nervous before the start, but then I hit a good tee shot and I felt good," Tseng said. "I feel that, having been in this position in a major a few times before, I am getting more mature and can handle the pressure better."
Masson dropped four shots in the first three holes of her closing nine. She finished at 9 under with local favorite Catriona Matthew, the 2009 champion, who had a double-bogey 6 on the final hole.
Sweden's Anna Nordqvist tied for seventh at 280 with South Koreans Sun Young-yoo, Na Yeon-choi and Inbee Pak. American Stacy Lewis had a 68 to rally to a 281.
Sweden's Maria Hjorth was at 282 after a 68 and Americans Katie Futcher and Cristie Kerr were in a group a stroke further back. Futcher equaled the best round of the week with a 64, including an eagle at the 14th, followed by three birdies. Kerr had four birdies for a 68 to finish at 5 under.

The 22-year-old Chinese Taipei golfer won the Women's British Open for the second straight year on Sunday, beating Brittany Lang by four strokes and becoming the youngest player - male or female - to capture a fifth major title.
Sorenstam was 32 when she won the 2003 LPGA Championship for her fifth major. Tiger Woods was 24 when he won his fifth at the 2000 PGA Championship.
"It's so great making history on this golf course, and I feel wonderful right now," said Tseng, who is ranked No 1 and won the LPGA Championship last month. "I hope to keep winning. Next year there are another four majors and I will try and organize and keep working hard."
Tseng became only the third player to win consecutive British titles, joining Sherri Steinhaurer (1998, 1999) and Debbie Massey (1980, 1981).
Tseng shot a 3-under 69 to finish at 16-under 272. She trailed third-round leader Caroline Masson of Germany by two strokes entering the final round. Masson closed with a 78 and tied for fifth.
"I wish to win more, but I am really happy," Tseng said. "I think in my mind I say, wow, five-times major. I never think about that. It just feels really very special."
Lang shot a 67 to finish at 276, one ahead of Sweden's Sophie Gustafson (68). South Korea's Amy Yang (67) was fourth.
Lang was tied for sixth entering the final day, eight behind Masson. She picked up one stroke by the turn but the American bagged four birdies at Nos 11, 12, 14 and 17.
"I made some really big par putts early on, and from then on played fairly flawless golf," Lang said.
Tseng dropped a shot at the first hole with three putts, missing a 3-footer for par. She birdied the third with a pitching wedge to 2 feet and the long sixth with a chip to 5 feet.
By the turn, she was in command. She was just short of the green off the tee at the par-4 11th and took two putts for a birdie, then dropped a shot at two straight holes. She hit an 8-iron over the back of the green at 12 and then hit the pin off the tee on the short 13th but her ball stopped at the edge of a bunker. She stood in the sand to play her second shot.
Tseng birdied the long 14th and finished with two birdies, holing from 20 feet on the 17th and hitting a majestic 9-iron to 3 feet at the last.
"I was a little nervous before the start, but then I hit a good tee shot and I felt good," Tseng said. "I feel that, having been in this position in a major a few times before, I am getting more mature and can handle the pressure better."
Masson dropped four shots in the first three holes of her closing nine. She finished at 9 under with local favorite Catriona Matthew, the 2009 champion, who had a double-bogey 6 on the final hole.
Sweden's Anna Nordqvist tied for seventh at 280 with South Koreans Sun Young-yoo, Na Yeon-choi and Inbee Pak. American Stacy Lewis had a 68 to rally to a 281.
Sweden's Maria Hjorth was at 282 after a 68 and Americans Katie Futcher and Cristie Kerr were in a group a stroke further back. Futcher equaled the best round of the week with a 64, including an eagle at the 14th, followed by three birdies. Kerr had four birdies for a 68 to finish at 5 under.

Llodra and Zimonjic capture China Open title
BEIJING - Third-seeded duo Michael Llodra and Nenad Zimonjic overpowered Robert Lindstedt and Horia Tecau 7-6 (2), 7-6 (4) to take the China Open men's doubles title here on Sunday.
Llodra of France and Zimonjic of Serbia experienced a tough match against their opponents, decided by two suffocating tie breakers. Llodra and Zimonjic withstood the pressure and displayed some high quality tennis to seal the match in one hour and 48 minutes.

America's Andy Roddick said on Monday that Shanghai Masters no-shows from world No 1 Novak Djokovic and 16-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer were stark evidence of the of heavy playing commitments.
It followed comments from Britain's Andy Murray last month that he had held several talks with other players at the US Open and they would be discussing the issue in Shanghai, though he said on Tuesday there had been no developments.
"There is something there, but is not the right moment to talk about it, especially when nothing clear is done," Nadal said.
"Always is better to talk about the things when you know exactly what's going to happen and when you know exactly what we are going to do," he added.
But the Spanish world No 2 said there was broad agreement among players over the issue.
"I am in touch always with the rest of the players. You know, I talked a lot with a lot of players last month. We'll see what we can do."
"The important thing is that, yes, I can say because I'm sure we are, most of us, almost everyone, in the same way. So like this we have power. Now we'll have to keep finding what we really want for the future and make that happen if possible."
World No 4 Murray said the players would try to set up a meeting before the end of the year, but he sought to play down the issue.

SCORING SYSTEM
A match shall consist of the best of three games, unless otherwise arranged ( Part II, Section 1B Appendix 2 and 3).
A game shall be won by the side which first scores 21 points, except as provided in Law 7.4 and 7.5.
The side winning a rally shall add a point to its score. A side shall win a rally, if the opposing side commits a "fault" or the shuttle ceases to be in play because it touches the surface of the court inside the opponent's court.
If the score becomes 20-all, the side which gains a two point lead first, shall win that game.

Starting the day, four shots back of Ho in equal sixth place, Hiratsuka got off poorly with an opening bogey but he responded quickly with a birdie on the par-four third.
The Japanese turned in 35 after another bogey on the sixth hole and birdie on the par-four eighth.
However, it was a magical eagle-two on the par four 11th that lifted him up to second place, one back of Ho with seven holes to play.
Hiratsuka then snatched the lead from under the nose of Ho with a vital birdie on the 13th hole before another birdie on 16th sealed his entry into the winner’s circle again.
“This has been a dream come true. I always like to win at home and I’m glad it finally happened his week,” said Hiratsuka.
“Nothing beats the home crowd cheering you on and it really motivated me to give my best today,” added the four-time Asian Tour winner.
Ho, who was the second round leader, was disappointed that he could not mount a serious title charge.
