Ben Colley from the West Midlands region put on a tremendous shooting display to clinch the Shooting Test title at this weekend's U17 Boys Regional Development Tournament.
Facing off against Daniel Walsh of Wales, Colley hit an amazing 17 three point shots from 18 attempts in two minutes to take the title.
The British Basketball Shooting Test has been introduced as part of the Areas of Emphasis (AOE) to help improve shooting skills and encourage individual practice by players.
A shooting competition has formed part of each of the Regional Development Tournaments this year (Laurie Costello of the South West won the U15 Boys and Natalie Busch of the South East won the U15 Girls) with each regional squad putting forward their best shooter to go up against each other to decide a champion.
Colley's performance improved throughout the tournament as he won a closely contested group with George Beard (South) and Matthew Wilcox (Scotland), before shooting 12 of 19 (63.2%) in the semi-final to defeat Joe Packwood (South West). In the final Daniel Walsh hit 10 of 19, which was no match for Colley's 94.4%.
